Meetings

Newton SEPAC holds a variety of meetings, gatherings, and educational opportunities throughout the school year.  All public events are open to anyone interested in special education. Discussion topics relate to supporting parents and caretakers of students receiving special education services in Newton, providing feedback to and gathering updates from the Newton Public Schools’ Student Services administration, advising the district and School Committee on key issues, and maintaining the Newton SEPAC as a strong volunteer-based organization.

Open Board Meetings
occur monthly either virtually or in-person, are open to all interested parties, and dates are typically posted early in the school year. Minutes are posted after each meeting.
Planning Discussions
happen as needed among board members and focus on development of and advertising for informational presentations, and other timely topics.
Meetings with NPS Leadership
generally occur monthly, and are an opportunity for the board to share community feedback with administrators and to discuss districtwide issues related to special education.

2026-2027 Open Board Meetings

The Newton SEPAC by-laws state that a minimum of 6 general meetings must be held annually. We strive, however, to offer monthly meetings for our membership throughout the school year. See below for upcoming Open Board Meeting information. As possible, agendas are shared in advance, and minutes from past meetings are posted below.
